Rain in Pokemon

Rain boosts Water-type damage and weakens Fire-type damage. It also changes accuracy, recovery, and speed control for several moves and abilities.

How rain works

Rain Dance and Drizzle are the main ways to start rain. In modern games, rain lasts five turns, or eight turns with Damp Rock. In rain, Thunder and Hurricane are 100% accurate.

Common rain interactions

Swift Swim doubles Speed in rain, while Rain Dish restores HP at the end of the turn. Rain also helps Dry Skin and Hydration in their own ways.
